Keurig K-Classic Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker, with 3 Brew Sizes, 48oz Removable Reservoir, Black

Up until recently, I had never been much of a coffee drinker except for the occasional seasonal flavored latte drinks but I was having trouble keeping up with my very active twin toddlers. We already had a standard coffee maker but I didn't want to brew a whole pot of coffee at once and single-serve coffee makers seem to be very popular so I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try. I had seen several different Keurigs from the basic ones to very fancy ones but wanted to purchase one that both fulfilled my needs to brew a single cup of coffee and wasn't too expensive so I opted to buy the Keurig K55 Coffee Maker in black. When the Keurig arrived, I eagerly opened up the box to get it set up and start using it! I found it fairly simple to set up since there is a Use and Care Guide included and it's easy to follow the step-by-step instructions. I'd say the setup only takes a few minutes and then you are ready to brew your first cup of coffee. There are lights on the brewer that illuminate and walk you through the brewing process but once you are used to it, it becomes second nature and now, I don't even have to think about it, which is good in the early morning when I'm not thinking straight and need my coffee!

If you are having a second cup of coffee very soon after the first, then it will only take 1 minute to make. Otherwise it is about a minute and thirty seconds to 2 minutes once you push the button to make coffee. My last Keurig coffeemaker was a lot faster, but once I bought and used the Keurig cleaner to Descale it, it stopped working. This machine is nice, coffee is hotter than last machine and I do not have to fill up reserve as much which is nice. I bought it for the advertised coffee in 60 seconds, but that is after you wait for the water to warm up and it starts brewing. I am using the water filter cartridge you put in the reserve, so hopefully this one will last longer than a year.

Having three different cup settings is what really makes this Keurig great! I like to brew through my k-cup twice to get the maximum amount of coffee and flavor out of it. My technique is to brew the largest 10oz setting first, then open the top to pull out the k-cup, twist/turn it 180 degrees, then close the top back as if I had inserted a new k-cup, and then brew the smallest 6oz setting into the same coffee cup. Due to the size of my coffee cup, I have enough room to allow for my method but please be careful that you know how many ounces fit in YOUR cup before trying it. The pictures shown are my test runs just brewing water through it: you will see 3 different amounts of water because one is displaying the large and small brewed together, the medium and small together, and then the small and small brewed together. Using my method you could also technically brew up to a 20oz cup if you used a ToGo tumbler and used the large setting twice. I think most of you may be surprised to find that using the same k-cup twice does not dilute the integrity of your coffee as much as you might think. There’s still a lot of flavor that goes to waste if you are unaware of my method. Overall no issues after day 1 and the only reason I had to buy this Keurig was because my other one (exactly like it) finally stopped brewing after 15 years!! I’m hoping I get the same result from this one.
